The Renewal by Andersen Kansas vs Nebraska Border Battle Rosters Announced!

Wichita, Kan. — April 8th, 2009 — The Southard Corporation/Renewal by Andersen, one of the largest home improvement companies in the Midwest, is proud to announce the rosters for its first annual charitable event, The Renewal by Andersen Border Battle. The basketball games will feature recently graduated senior all-stars from Kansas vs Nebraska. The June 20th event, at the all new Hartman Arena in Park City, will include both a boys and girls game. The Southard Corporation is locally owned and operated and is the exclusive Renewal by Andersen replacement window dealer for the Kansas and the Omaha/Lincoln, Nebraska markets. The games will benefit the V Foundation for Cancer Research. The V Foundation was founded in 1993 by ESPN and the late Jim Valvano, legendary North Carolina State basketball coach. Since 1993, The Foundation has raised more than $70 million to fund cancer research grants nationwide. One hundred percent of all new direct cash donations and net proceeds of events will go directly to cancer research and related programs.

The rosters include 12 players and 2 coaches for each boys and girls team making a total of 56 participants. ÒWeÕre extremely excited about the quality of student athletes from Kansas and Nebraska for our inaugural Renewal by Andersen Border Battle gamesÓ said Wes Race Director of Marketing for Renewal by Andersen and Chairman of the event. ÒWe have over a dozen participants whoÕve already signed on to play college athletics at major Division One NCAA programs. The response from the players and coaches has been fantastic and we already have quite a bit of a rivalry heating up. ItÕs going to be a lot of fun.Ó

The games will be telecast live exclusively on Kansas 22. Veteran sportscaster Mark Ewing (Cox Kansas) will work alongside Mark Davidson (KSNW) and Mark Kraynak (Cox Omaha) to call the action on a channel that can be seen statewide only on Cox Cable.

A banquet will be held at the Best Western Red Coach Inn on the Friday before the game and the proceeds will benefit The Kansas Sports Hall of Fame. More information will be released shortly and will include the announcement of well known keynote speakers who are not only local Midwest legends but are also nationally recognized. Individual tickets as well as corporate tables will be sold to the public for the banquet.

Tickets to the game are $12 for adults and $8 for students. A limited number of seats on the floor will be sold for $25 a ticket. Tickets are on sale now at www.rbaborderbattle.com , at www.hartmanarena.com or call 888-755-2583. The girlÕs game tips-off at 5pm and the boyÕs game will start shortly thereafter. Please direct all questions and media requests to Wes Race.
