Helpful Window Upkeep and Maintenance Tips

While our windows are built to last, you can extend the life of your Renewal by Andersen windows with proper cleaning and maintenance.

We recommend using mild cleaning solutions, such as a mild mixture of soap and water, to clean your window frames, sashes, grilles and glass. This will help prevent permanent damage to your windows’ glass coating and Fibrex® material.

When cleaning your windows, we also recommend using nonabrasive, soft rags or cloths. Avoid using newspaper or ink-based paper, which can lead to the permanent discoloring of your windows.

Don’t forget to clean your insect screens, too! The longer you wait, the harder it will be to clear out the dirt and grime. Fortunately, our insect screens are easily detached and can be cleaned with a soft, damp cloth.
